    ACURA IPOD LOCKPICK INSTALLATION AND OPERATION MANUAL - The interface is truly plug and play. The factory connectors are individually keyed so you cannot plug them into the wrong location. 1. VEHICLES WITH OR WITHOUT A FACTORY XM TUNER PRESENT • The installation of the HONDA/ACURA LOCKPICK is the same for vehicles with or without a factory XM tuner present. After gaining access to the back of the radio, locate the 14 pin connector which matches the connectors of your IPOD LOCKPICK harness. Unplug the factory 14 pin connector and plug it into the female connector of the LOCKPICK harness. Then plug the male end of the harness into the former factory location 2. PROGRAMMING YOUR INTERFACE • The HONDA/ACURA IPOD interface is universal in application and requires only a simple switch setting to properly program it to match your vehicle and options. The IPOD LOCKPICK is shipped with all switches in the UP position. If your vehicle is already equipped with a factory XM tuner then place switch 4 in the DOWN position. This will program the LOCKPICK for use while in the presence of an XM tuner and prevent conflict between the components. If you have an XM tuner but are not currently subscribed, still place switch 4 in the DOWN position. All other applications where an XM tuner is not present will leave all interface switches in the UP position. After positioning the programming switch, plug the interface into the harness. This will lock in the setting you have selected. If you have made a mistake and need to change the programming setting, unplug the LOCKPICK module first and then change the switch position. If the interface is not unplugged while changing the programming settings, the new programming will not be performed and improper operation may result. 3. CONNECT THE IPOD HARNESS AND/OR AUX INPUT • Included with your interface is a cable designed to connect an iPOD/iPHONE to the Lockpick. Plug the cable into the Lockpick and the other end into the bottom of the iPOD/iPHONE. If your iPOD does not have a bottom docking connector, it is not compatible with the LOCKPICK interface. Compatible iPODs include NANO, MINI, 4th and 5th generation iPODs including photo/video. Also available on your LOCKPICK are AUX input jacks which may be connected to any stereo audio and source and played through your factory sound system.

    BMW X5 Sirius Receiver Installation Guide - Remove the spoiler by unscrewing the five (5) Torx-30 screws from the underside of the spoiler. As you can see from the photos below, four (4) of the Torx-30 screws are located on the left and right sides, and one is in the middle of the spoiler. One of the screws on each side is hidden under the black, round plastic cover. Use a thin-blade screwdriver to pop the cover off, and remove the screw underneath. Take your time and be very careful removing this screw. You do not want to drop it in the hatch compartment because it would be a nightmare to retrieve it (if at all possible). After all five (5) screws have been loosened; remove the spoiler cover by lifting it from the front of the spoiler toward the rear. Be careful as you do not want to scratch the spoiler or the roof. Put it aside for now. I chose the right side of the spoiler to mount the Terk SIR3 antenna because the antenna lead would be closer to the Sirius receiver. But either side would be OK. In fact, I think it could be easier if the antenna was mounted on the left side and fed through the rubber grommet. The antenna lead is long enough to install on either side. MOUNTING OF THE METAL BRACKET FOR THE TERK SIR3 ANTENNA Many people argue about the fact that the antenna must be mounted on a metal surface. As a result, I decided to mount the Terk SIR3 antenna on a metal part. Since there is no metal part in the spoiler (the spoiler is made of fiberglass in case you did not know), I bought a piece of metal strap from Home Depot for $0.39 and bent it into a Z-shape bracket. One end of the bracket is secured with one of the hex bolts in the spoiler (one bolt on each side – see previous picture.) As you can see from the pictures below, I still need a lot of practice. It is in a very crude form, but it serves the purpose! I put some double-sided adhesive tape under the bottom of the bracket to mount it onto the spoiler body. The Terk SIR3 antenna was then mounted on top of the bracket. The magnet is extremely strong and you do not have to worry about its moving around in the spoiler.

Remove negative battery cable. 3. Remove any covers (kick panels, etc.). 4. Remove the ECU mounting bracket screw and pull the ECU out of it’s bracket. 5. On the rear of the ECU remove the warranty sticker or plastic cap to expose the connector. IMPORTANT: It is necessary to clean the protective coating off of the circuit board connection on the factory computer. Using the supplied cleaning pad, gently rub back and forth over the circuit board to remove all of the coating (see pictures). You MUST clean both sides of the circuit board for the module to get a proper contact. Remove any flakes of coating left from cleaning. If the vehicle does not start or any warning lamps stay on after installing the module, reclean the circuit board and remove any residual coating from inside the connec tor on the JET module. 6. Plug the JET Module onto the exposed connector (see pages 4-7 for pictured instructions.) IMPORTANT: When installing the module onto the connector, care should be taken NOT to FORCE the module inside the computer. Damage to your computer could result. 7. To prevent the module from working loose – use the provided mounting strip and tape over the module to hold it on the ECU. 8. Reinstall the ECU, bracket and any panels back in their original location. 9. Reconnect the negative battery cable. 10. Start the vehicle – verify that the service engine light is NOT on and that the idle RPM is normal. If NOT , turn OFF the engine. Verify all the installation proceedures.
